The delegation of the French Republic leading by Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Laurent Fabius was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting agenda focused on a number of issues regarding the interstate cooperation as well as the urgent problems of the world and regional policy that are of particular priority for the two countries. Underlining the friendly, respectful character of partnership between Turkmenistan and France, the meeting participants emphasized the importance of fostering the trade and economic cooperation and called for developing the cultural and humanitarian relations between the two states. The distinguished guests underlined the interest of the French Republic in developing relations with our country in a wide spectrum of areas and focused on the willingness of the business circles of France to expand on the promising Turkmen market sharing their experience in the sphere of advanced technologies and innovations in various sectors of the national economy.

The Agreement on air traffic between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the French Republic, the Agreement on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the France-Turkmenistan Chamber of Commerce and the Memorandum on Mutual Understanding between the Turkmen State Institute of Oil and Gas and Total French oil and gas company were signed upon completion of the meeting.
