Meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan

The prospects of further development of the long-term cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UK were discussed during the meeting with the Deputy Head of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office - Eastern Research Group, Eastern Europe & Central Asia Directorate taken place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Exchanging the views on the prospects for intensification of efficient partnership established within the last years in a number of key areas, the meeting participants expressed the interest of the countries in diversifying and enhancing constructive dialogue successfully developing at the bilateral and the multilateral basis, first of all within the authoritative international organisations and structures.

The meeting participants underlined with satisfaction the existing huge potential for comprehensive strengthening the mutually beneficial cooperation built on the equal long-term basis and activization of relations in the economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Expressing mutual interest in developing the interstate relations given the interests of the both countries, the foreign-policy specialists of Turkmenistan and the UK spotlighted the significance of meetings to be held at various levels, including consultations and business forums between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two states that promote developing new prospect areas of traditional cooperation given the priorities of development of the two friendly states.

Within the framework of the visit, the Deputy Head of the Foreign & Commonwealth Office - Eastern Research Group, Eastern Europe & Central Asia Directorate will be received at the National Institute of Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan.
