The current week for the Turkmen fans of sports will be rich in sport wrestling competitions. Among them, it is particularly worth mentioning the Classic and Combat Sambo Championship of the Central Asia among men and women. This large international tournament will be held in Ashgabat in the hall of multifunctional sports complex “Galkynysh”. The first single combats on sport version of this wrestling will started on March 13.
Over 100 best sportsmen from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and our country will take part in the competitions organized by the State Committee of Turkmenistan for sports and Martial Arts Federation. Single combats will take place on two mats immediately.
It is worth mentioning that in this week, regional sambo competitions will be held not only in Ashgabat. From March 16 to 17, the Championship of this region among men and women will take place in Beyik Turkmenbashy etrap of Lebap province. So, the relay race of competitions on self-defense will go on in our country till the end of this week.
Among particularly significant tournaments, it should be mentioned the Swimming Championship of Turkmenistan to be held on the basis of Ashgabat Aquatic Sports Complex from March 14 to 16.
The students will also take an active part in promotion of the healthy life-style. On March 11, basketball and handball tournaments started on the sport bases of several higher educational establishments of the capital within the framework of the National Student Games, which is annually organized by the Central Council of the Youth Physical and Sports Organization “Turkmenistan”.
