Elimination tournament of the Cup of challenge AFC-2014 with participation of the teams of “E” group is going on in the capital of the Philippines – Manila.
As is known, on the first day of the game, the football players of the national team of Turkmenistan won a convincing victory over opponents from Cambodia – 7:0. In the second round, our compatriots had to meet with the team of Brunei. But, the football players of this country didn’t come to the tournament. As this result, according to the regulations of competitions, the athletes under charge of Honored Coach of Turkmenistan Ya.Khojageldiyev won a match by default with a score of 3 goals to nil. Because of absence of the team of Brunei, owing to victory by default with a score of 3 goals to nil, it was entered on the credit of the Philippines and Cambodia. In the second round, these teams have played with each other. Match was completed with noticeable advantage of the home team, which won a victory with a score of 8 goals to nil.
At that, the national teams of the Philippines and Turkmenistan are in the lead with hundred-per-cent index – 6 points in the group prior to the final round. These teams have to play with each other at the tournament. It will be the third match of these teams within the framework of the Cup of challenge AFC-2014. In previous two matches, the success accompanied the Turkmen football players: in 2009, in elimination tournament in Maldives - 5:0 and in 2012, in semifinal of the final tournament in Nepal – 2:1. In upcoming match, both teams can play drawn game for reaching the final part of the second continental tournament.
