Forthcoming Monday will open the relay race of international performances of our sportsmen. In these days, the youth team of Turkmenistan on weightlifting is on training session in Kemer (Turkey). Our team included 14 athletes (10 boys and 4 girls), who prepare for world-level contests, namely for the Weightlifting Championship of the planet to be held from April 6 to 13 in the capital of Uzbekistan - Tashkent.
On March 22, Championships on this kind of sports among boys and girls under 10 and 16 years old started on the basis of Ashgabat sports chess school of the municipal sports committee.
In the last Sunday, Archabil highway has turned into place for organization of sport contests. It was started the Cycle Racing Championship of Turkmenistan. The strongest masters of the country compete for medals in several disciplines. The tournament will last till March 31.
On Monday, the opening of the national tennis tournament among sportsmen of three age groups – born in 2003 and younger, under 13 years old and among adults was held on the courts of multifunctional sports complex “Ashgabat”.
Table Tennis Championship of Turkmenistan also starts on the basis of the capital’s Aquatic Sports Complex. The tournament will gather a large quantity of participants from all provinces of the country and Ashgabat, which will reveal the strongest athletes in individual, pair and mixed contests.
The State Committee of Turkmenistan for Sports and its dependent vilayet and city subdivisions will organize over 40 events, including the country’s Championships on freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, basketball, indoor soccer, Table Tennis Championship of Turkmenistan, Hockey Championship of sports school of the State Committee, competitions on various kinds of sports with participation of the officials of the ministries, departments, chancellors of the higher educational establishments of the country, workers of the embassies, foreign businessmen, mass kilometers-long heats and laps on sport cycles, exhibition performances on various kinds of sports and many others.
