Five teams, including four top division football clubs – Ahal, Ashgabat, Merv, Shagadam (Turkmenbashi) and premier league team – Gara Altyn (Balkanabat) compete for the Turkmenistan Football Federation Cup this year.
In the first match of the tournament Gara Altyn defeated 2-1 the Vice Champion of Turkmenistan Merv FC. The second match finished with the victory of the Ashgabat FC over Shagadam FC 1-0. The tournament will finish on April 1.
Organized by the National Football Federation jointly with the State Committee for Sports, the tournament takes place at the football fields of the Ashgabat multifunctional stadium. Two best teams will qualify for the final.
