The Turkmen delegation took part in the international conference entitled “Tourism in the centers of World Heritage: demand and possibilities”, which was held in the Turkish resort town Cheshme near Izmir.

Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai, Director of UNESCO World Heritage Centre Kishore Rao participated in the official opening ceremony. At the forum, it was discussed the issues of information and communication strategy in the field of improvement of the preservation of the facilities of historic-cultural heritage, formation of motivational factors of selection by travelers of one or another tourist center on the map of the world.

The 55th session of the Regional European Commission of the World Tourism Organization held on March 27 in Cheshme became the logical continuation of the dialogue. The agenda of the meeting included the discussion of integrated conception of the development of international tourism in 2013, projects on the basis of tourist attractiveness of facilities of the world heritage, issues on preparation for the 20th session of the General Assembly of UNWTO.
