An international boxing coaching seminar organized by the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan jointly with the National Boxing Federation of Turkmenistan under the Olympic Solidarity Programme of the International Olympic Committee has started in the Turkmen capital this week. The aim of the international seminar is to promote this sport in Turkmenistan and develop professional skills of Turkmen boxing coaches.

The senior coach for research and methodological activities and the leader of the research group of the national teams of Ukraine Valentin Ostyanu arrived in Ashgabat to share his experiences with seminar participants. The forum is taking place at the National Olympic Committee and the training and sports centre of the National Boxing Federation.

The experienced professional will make presentations on the history and development of boxing in the world, the new boxing coaching system approved at the Congress of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) in Italy in February this year and the practices in the organization of boxing tournaments in line with international standards.

The seminar will finish on April 18. Seminar participants will receive certificates of the International Olympic Committee. Moreover, they will be included in the AIBA coaching roster.
