A two-day seminar on development of cooperation of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan and the International Red Cross Movement with mass media took place at the conference hall in the Watanchi Hotel in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. The forum brought together the journalists of central and regional media and representatives of the local agencies of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan.

It was noted that the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan takes an active part in the social and economic reforms aimed at strengthening the high humanitarian principles in the Turkmen society. Guiding by the Turkmen people’s spiritual values such as peacefulness, benevolence, openness and mercy, the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan makes a significant contribution to implementation of the large-scale national programmes.

During the seminar, coordinators of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan underlined the significance of complex measures taken to ensure improvement of the legislation that is focused on implementation of the generally-recognized international legal norms, including basic principles of the humanitarian law. Expressing satisfaction with the efficiency of work done in our country in this area within the last years, the meeting participants called for enhancing efficient cooperation of the Society with mass media in this important area.
