Turkmenistan was elected as deputy chairperson of the UN Economic Commission for Europe. This information was got from the Office of the United Nations Organization in Geneva, where the fifth meeting of the 65th session of the UN Economic Commission for Europe was held recently. In the course of the elections of supervisory personnel, by unanimous decision of member states of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, Turkmenistan became the deputy chairperson of the Commission.

Moreover, in accordance with this status, our country will also perform the duties of deputy chairperson of the Executive Committee of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, which is the managing body of Economic Commission for Europe, during every two-year period i.e. until April 2015.
