Two matches in Ashgabat and Balkanabat completed today the second round of the Football Championship of Turkmenistan among teams of major league.

In the capital’s Olympic stadium, the match was held between “Ashgabat” and “Akhal” teams. Main events have expanded at the end of the game. At the 88th minute, the home team didn’t implement the penalty kick. And at the 90th minute, the player of “Akhal” Serdar Geldiyev irresistibly scored a goal to near corner of the capital’s team. Finally, “Akhal” won the second in succession victory - 1:0 and overtook the International Turkmen-Turkish University, which was in the lead with six scores. And “Ashgabat” sustained the second defeat in succession.

In another match in Balkanabat, the reigning champion of the country “Balkan” accepted “Merv” - the silver prize winner of the last year’s championship. At the end, “Balkan” won the first victory in the current championship - 3:1 and competed in scores with “Shagadam” from Turkmenbashi city. Both teams, representing Balkan province in the championship, have 4 scores each after two rounds. “Akhal” and the International Turkmen-Turkish University are in the lead by two scores only.

The third round starts on April 19 with match between “Altyn Asyr” and “Talyp sporty” teams.
