The programme of the sports events of the last week included a Chess Junior Championship held at the Ashgabat Sports School for Chess of the Ashgabat Sports Committee. The youngest participants of the tournament – six-year-old Byagul Ezizova won the first place in the U8 age group. E. Kuliev from Ashgabat coached by the Honoured Trainer of Turkmenistan S. Bayramsahatov won the first place among the boys in the U8 age group. 13-year-old Master of Sports Saparmurat Atabaev and G. Yalkanova ranked the first in the U14 age group.
The National Athletics Championship among juniors will start at the Kopetdag Sports Complex and Dagdan Stadium in Ashgabat on May 3. Sportsmen will compete in 100-, 200- and 800-meter races, broad jumping, high jumping, shot put and javelin throwing. On May 4, the tournament will be continued at the Olympic Sports Complex. The winners will be announced on Sunday.
On May 4-5, the National Weightlifting Championship among men and women will take place at the Ashgabat multifunctional sports complex. The winners of the tournament will participate in the World Students Games this summer in Kazan (the Russia Federation).
On weekend, the Galkynysh Sports Complex will bring together the fans of martial arts and best kick-boxers of the country (under 15 years old) to take part in the National Championship of Turkmenistan.
On May 3, young sportsmen in the city of Abadan will compete in the national wrestling tournaments.
Moreover, the competitions in football, soccer and futsal, Greco-Roman and free-style wrestling, volleyball, basketball, handball, gymnastics and many other sports events with participation of professional and amateur sportsmen will be arranged in all regions of the country this week.
