The Turkmen wrestlers gained great success in two large contests of international level – World Jujitsu Championship held in the Russian city Suzdal and the 5th Open Sport and Combat Sambo Championship of Saxony held in Dresden (Germany). In total, the sport attainments of Turkmenistan were replenished with 14 medals (8 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze).

At present, the Turkmen successor of sport and combat sambo prepare for two tournaments of national level – for Championships of Turkmenistan among workers and employees of law enforcement agencies and among combined teams of provinces to be held from May 7 to 10 and devoted to the 68th Anniversary of Great Victory in 1941-1945.
