The traditional 4th basketball tournament for the Friendship Cup has started at the Galkynysh Sports and Health-improving Complex.

Eight teams split into two groups compete for a honorary trophy. Group A – “Aha’, “Mary”, “Ashgabat-1” and “Olymp”. Group B – “Balkan”, “Dashoguz”, “Lebap” and “Ashgabat-2”.

According to the rules, two best teams of each group will play in the semifinals, the winners will compete for the main prize and runners-up will compete for the bronze prize.

In Group A, “Olymp” and “Ashgabat-1” defeated “Mery” and “Ahal” (64:33 and 57:20 respectively) and gained two points each.

In Group B, “Lebap” defeated (67:17) “Dashoguz” and “Balkan” defeated (62:27) “Ashgabat-2”.

The basketball tournament will complete on May 10.
