The meeting of working technological conference on preparation for the European ministerial conference on infectious diseases control, which will be take place in the Turkmen capital in December of the current year, was held in Ashgabat.

The Ministers of Health, high-ranking officials, key partners and experts will take part in the European ministerial conference on prevention and fight against infectious diseases. Within the framework of Ashgabat meeting, they will discuss the attained progress and existing difficulties in realization at the level of countries of global and regional Action Plans on NID.

conference will be organized by the European Regional Bureau of WHO and its host party will be the government of Turkmenistan. The agenda of Ashgabat Conference will outline five key issues. The first of them is the review and estimation of the progress attained after high-level conference of the UN General Assembly and adoption of the Global and European Action Plans. Other issues are related to concrete aspects of the topic, including the improvement of accountability and expansion of potential of public health; strengthening of intersectoral actions and partnership for influence on four major factors of risk; activization of efforts on acceleration of realization FCTC; determination and elimination of “bottlenecks’” of the healthcare system, which prevent to realize the actions on NID prophylaxis. At the conference, it will be also discussed the subsequent practical steps in realization of the European Actions Plan.
