The qualification campaign for the AFC President Cup started with the victory of the FC Balkan over the “Al Quds Hilal” (Palestine) 2:1.
The twelve teams were drawn into three groups of four compete for the third important Asian Club Trophy. Each group is played on a single round-robin basis at a centralized venue. The winners and runners-up of each group advance to the final stage. Turkmenistan Champion FC Balkan and “Al Quds Hilal” (Palestine), “Beoungket Rubber” (Cambodia) and “Sri Lanka Army Sports Club” (Sri Lanka) were qualified in Group C. The Group C matches are played at Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from 6 to 10 May 2013.
The Champion of Turkmenistan won its first three points. “Beoungket Rubber” (Cambodia) won three points in the first round having defeated 6-0 “Sri Lanka Army Sports Club”. FC Balkan will play next match versus “Beoungket Rubber”.
