The Turkmen-Latvian Business Forum in Ashgabat

The Turkmen-Latvian Business Forum timed to an official visit of the President of the Republic of Latvia to Turkmenistan took place at the Mizan Business Centre in Ashgabat.

heads of leading government agencies as well as representatives of more than thirty companies specialized in banking sphere and investment, agriculture, food industry, transport, shipbuilding, engineering industry, metalworking production, planning and construction, information and communication technologies, health and pharmaceutical industry, trade and the sphere of services represented the Latvian delegation at in the meeting.

The Turkmen delegation was represented by the heads of leading ministries and departments of the country, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Union of Industrials and Entrepreneurs of the country.

Within the framework of the business forum, the Turkmen and Latvian delegates briefed those present on the existing situation in the national economies of the two countries and new prospects meeting the interests of the two states and peoples.

Speaking at the forum closing ceremony, President of the Republic of Latvia Andris Berzinsh expressed the belief that the meeting would be another important step towards widening international cooperation and would promote further entrenchment of friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.

In conclusion of the meeting, business forum participants underlined the significance of holding such meetings on a regular basis with the aim to develop the common approaches towards the unified platform for further efficient collaboration.

Within the framework of bilateral meetings, the representatives of the Latvian state agencies and companies as well as specialists of ministries, departments and private sector of Turkmenistan discussed the prospects of development of cooperation and specified the plans for further cooperation.
