On the ice arena of Ashgabat Winter Sports Complex, it was played the first open challenge Hockey Cup of the Ministry of the Interior of Turkmenistan devoted to the Professional Day of workers of interior authorities. The contests differed with original record results: for the first time, 8 teams divided into two groups competed in the national hockey tournament for main trophy.
The group “A” included the teams “Galkan” of the Ministry of the Interior, “Nesil” of the Institute of the Ministry of the Interior, “Alp Arslan” of the Ministry of Communications and “Watanchi” of the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense. In the group “B”, the teams “Oguzkhan” of “Turkmengaz” State Concern, “Merdana” of the State Frontier Service, “Burgut” of the State Committee for sports and “Shir” of the State Commodity and Raw material Exchange competed to reach the semifinal stage.
Finally, “Galkan” became the winner of the contests, which smashed “Shir” with a score of 8 goals to one. Rahman Myradov from “Galkan” team was recognized as the best goalkeeper and Aman Aganiyazov from the same hockey club became the best fullback.
It is worth mentioning that to date, the national hockey school got an opportunity to have team practice session on the basis of one of the strongest hockey clubs of the world – the Kazan “Ak bars” (Russia).
It is also noteworthy that besides hockey contests, the competitions on football, volleyball, judo and handgun shooting were held in honor of the Professional Day of workers of interior authorities.
