The official ceremony of greeting of the Turkmen sports delegation and hoisting the State Flag of Turkmenistan took place on the Path of Flagpoles in the Universiade Village in Kazan.
The State Flag of Turkmenistan was hoisted to the sounds of the Gaudeamus students’ hymn that is performed in honour of the winners in accordance with the rules of the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
A concert performed by artists of the Republic of Tatarstan added bright colors to the ceremony.
Sportsmen representing more than 160 states will participate in the Summer Games in Kazan.
The best sportsmen, students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan, who achieved high results at the World and Asian Championships and other prestigious international tournaments, will represent our country at the XXVII World Universiade. Among them are World Champion in Sambo Gulbadam Babamuratova (under 52-kg weight category), Vice ChampionGulanr Hayytbaeva (under 64-kg weight category), bronze winner of the World Championship in Weightlifting Hodjamuhammet Toychiev (over 105-kg weight category), and a number of other sportsmen.
