Competitions on kick boxing started at IV Asian Indoor Games and Martial Arts, going on in Inchon. In the course of them, the Turkmen sportsmen held three single combats. Two of them were crowned with success: the athletes of the Honored Coach of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the National Kick boxing Federation Alexander Snagovski – Shohrat Khalliyev (up to 63.5 kg) and Allamyrat Annamyradov (up to 81 kg) secured for them reaching the quarterfinal.
Sportsman of Yemen – Al-Nufiya Abdo Ahmed Abdulla became the opponent of Shohrat. Already at the beginning of single combat held in “full contact” section, it was determined the superiority of the Turkmen kick boxer, which increased by every round. The sportsman from Yemen, who didn’t give way till the last seconds, lost with very impressive difference in scores. On July 4, Sh. Khalliyev will compete to reach the semifinals with sportsman from Mongolia Muhbayar Jadambaa.
A. Annamyradov competed in “low kick” section, which rules permit the kicks on body and hips. Burenzorik Batmunkh from Mongolia became his opponent. The result of this stubborn fight was competent tactical actions of the Turkmen sportsman. Having practiced on equal the first round, in the second round, our kick boxer made a series of lightning attacks, which provided him the comfortable advantage in score. In the final period, Allamyrat only had to keep the distance skillfully and he coped with this task excellently. In the quarterfinal, our sportsman will meet with opponent from Uzbekistan Akhmed Alimbekov.
is worth mentioning that reaching the semifinal secures a bronze medal for the sportsman as there are two third places in the contests on kick boxing. Our wrestlers should make a step to the cherished ascent of podium. But it is worth mentioning that the Turkmen kick boxers resolutely gear up to reach the final duels and compete for medals of high standard.
The third duel with participation of our wrestler was held in the weight class up to 71 kg. The representative of Turkmenabat Kick boxing School Tahir Shaymanov yielded to the Kazakh athlete - the reigning champion of Asia and world, twofold owner of the World Cup Sayan Zhakubov. This duel became a good school for Tahir prior to next single combats.
On July 4, another Ashgabat sportsman – Kurban Bekhanov will join to aforementioned two Turkmen kick boxers in the quarterfinal. He will compete for reaching the semifinal in the contests on “full contact” in weight class up to 57 kg. Opponent of our wrestler will be Al Balhavi Mohammed Mutar Abdullah from the Iranian team.
On the same day, it will be started the contests on kurash wrestling, where 5 sportsmen represent Turkmenistan. In this kind of sports, the Turkmen athletes have good chances for medals.
