Another three medals have replenished today the receptacle of the team of Turkmenistan at ХХVII World Summer Student Games, going on in the capital of Tatarstan. On the second day of Student Games, gold and two bronze medals for our country were gained by the women’s team in belt wrestling, where the representatives of 17 countries contended for awards in five weight classes.
Five athletes represented Turkmenistan in this kind of wrestling. Three of them will return to Motherland with medals. It is wonderful result!
Award of the highest standard was gained by the student of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism Gulbadam Babamuratova. This victory is particularly significant, because in belt wrestling, Gulbadam first performed on the international arena.
The student of the National Institute of Sports and Tourism Rushana Nurjovova (up to 58 kg) and graduate of this higher educational establishment Gulnar Hayitbayeva (up to 66 kg) won the bronze medals.
After two days of competitions, which included 59 sets of medals, the team of Turkmenistan with 9 medals (2 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze) wins the 8th place in the team medal rating, taking the lead in number of gold medals over such sport states as the USA, Australia, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Hungary, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and others.
