The national team of Turkmenistan that takes part in the ХХVII World Summer Student Games in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Federation, won the twelfth medal. Nursoltan Ashirova, a student of the Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan won a bronze medal (under 72-kg weight category) in the sambo event.


It is the first time when the sambo is included to the official program of the 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan (Russia). National sambo federations of 44 countries all around the world sent 270 sambo players to take part in the World Students Games.
