The solemn ceremony of opening of a new sports school designed for 365 places was opened in the Ata-yab settlement in O. Ersaryev Gengeshlik in Akdepe Etrap.
Students can practice various sports such as volleyball, basketball, tennis, handball, box, martial arts, and judo, do therapeutic exercises and promote their health under the supervision of well-experienced coaches and specialists in the gyms and special sports facilities located in the territory of the school. There are the grounds for playing outdoor sports, football field and running tracks in the school yard. There are the rooms for referees, first-aid post and stands with seats for spectators of sports tournaments in the territory of the school. A new sports school was also opened in the administrative centre of the region earlier.
New sports facilities with the 1,500-seat stadiums and specialized sports schools are currently under construction in Kunyaurgench, Georogly, S. Turkmenbashi and S.A. Niyazov etraps and other etraps in the northern region of the country.
