Chess Championship of Turkmenistan among men, comprising the major league, has completed in Ashgabat. In the course of round robin, the victory was gained by 25-year old master of FIDE from Tejen (Akhal province) Annaberdi Esenov for whom the gold medal became the first in such representative contests of national level.
16 best chess players from all regions of our country took part in the Championship held in the chess sport school of Ashgabat Sport Committee, where the winner improved his mastery within several years.
A.Esenov accumulated 13 points, having completed 12 games with victory, 2- in a draw and one – having given a way to opponent. One point of the winner was taken away by the Lebap chess player Suhrab Semiyev, who has the title of international master. But this victory was insufficient for the first place: having accumulated 12.5 points, S.Semiyev became the silver prize winner.
One of the youngest participants of the championship - 14-year old master of sports Saparmyrat Atabayev, who has 12 points, won the third place.
At the end of August, another championship of Turkmenistan among chess players of major league starts in Ashgabat. Female group of participants from all provinces will compete for medals.
