Today, traditional 19th International Football Tournament for the Cup of the President of Turkmenistan with prize money of 35 UD dollars started in the capital’s stadium “Kopetdag” with two matches. As it was informed, eight national youth teams, which were divided into two groups in the first stage of competitions, compete for honorable trophy.
Tournament was opened by the teams of “A” group. In the first match, the national teams of Russia and Tajikistan have met. In Ashgabat Tournament, the Russian team is represented by pupils of Chertanovo football school, who win the third place among 12 teams of their league in the Championship of Moscow after “Spartak” and Dinamo”. The Tajik team was formed on the basis of the Republican school of high sport mastery, which is main provider of young talented football players for combined teams of the country.
Author of the first goal in the tournament at the thirteenth minute of the game became the Russian forward I. Melnik, who having got a ball in penalty ground of the opponent, scored a goal. The second time was held with full advantage of the Russian football players, who scored another six unrequited goals to the gate of their opponent. In another match, the national teams of Belarus and Uzbekistan have met. It completed with 2:1 to Uzbekistan.
At that, after first day of competitions, the teams of Russia and Uzbekistan, which scored three points each, have come to the fore. The national teams of Belarus and Tajikistan have no points yet. On September 11, the teams of “B” group will compete for honorable trophy: at 10:00, the national teams of Kyrgyzstan and Kuwait will appear on the field of “Kopetdag” stadium, and at 18:00, the national teams of Turkmenistan and Iran will meet on the central arena of “Ashgabat” stadium.
