Ten teams split into two groups: Group A - Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, Singapore, Bahrein and Iraq, Group B - Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Myanmar and Kyrgyzstan competed for the right to be qualified to Group III of the Asia and Oceania zone.

The national team of Turkmenistan represented by Alexander Ernepesov, George Pochay, Eziz Dovletov and Atlymurad Kurbanov defeated the tennis players from Bangladesh (3-0), Singapore (2-1), Iraq (3-0), Bahrein (3-0) and achieved the play-off for the second time.
