The Ashgabat Cup International Tennis Tournament brought together over 100 tennis players (U18) from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Indonesia and Turkmenistan. The tournament is organized by the State Committee for Sports, the National Tennis Centre of Turkmenistan and Ashgabat Khyakimlik.

The Ashgabat Cup is held for the third time and within three years it has become very popular among foreign sportsmen. Ukraine and Indonesia has taken part in the tournament for the first time this year.

The matches that have been included into the International Tennis Federation (ITF) since 2011 are played at the Ashgabat Stadium. Within the first two days, the tennis players will compete in qualification tournaments. The main struggle of the junior tournament of the ITF fifth category will start on September 16.

The winners will be announced on September 21.
