Turkmen tennis players A. Ernepesov and G. Pochay reached semifinal at the International Junior Tennis Tournament “Ashgabat Cup”, which continues on the courts of “Ashgabat” stadium. The leaders of our team – winners of the recent zonal tournament of the Davis Cup in the United Arab Emirates gained this success in pair competitions, having won in the quarterfinal a victory over Ukrainian duet in composition of D. Klok and A. Litvinov – 6:3, 6:3.
In the duel to reach the final, duet from Uzbekistan R. Ahmadaliyev – M. Esipov will be opposed to our two compatriots.
Two international duets: I. Mametkuliyev (Turkmenistan) – A. Hergunvarim (Turkey) and S. Agabigun (Turkey)-K. Akzharkenov (Kazakhstan) will play in another semifinal.
Today, in the tournament, it was also held the duels in single grade, where among Turkmen tennis players, the first racket of the country A. Ernepesov and I. Mametkuliyev under number five made the way to quarterfinal. The first athlete easily won a victory over Sh. Rajabov (Uzbekistan) – 6:1, 6:2, and the second – won the compatriot G. Pochay in stubborn struggle in three set – 6:2, 5:7, 6:4.
In quarterfinal, A. Ernepesov will appear on the court against A. Hergunvarim (Turkey) under number eight, and I. Mametkuliyev – against R. Ahmadaliyev (Uzbekistan).
In the female junior tournament, having won a victory over Sh. Hatamova (Uzbekistan) – 6:4, 7:6(5), our tennis player D. Bayramova reached quarterfinal. In the duel to reach the semifinal, she will meet with A. Karimova (Russia).
D. Bayramova also successfully performed in female pair grade. In pair with B. Jengiz (Turkey), our compatriot reached semifinal, having won a victory in quarterfinal over duet from Belarus L. Hancharova – V. Mishina 6:3, 7:6(3). Now, in the duel to reach the final, the international duet D. Bayramova - B. Jengiz has to play against Turkish pair E. Akyurt – D. Gunai.
