International Tournament, which started today on the courts of multifunctional “Ashgabat” stadium, hosted the junior tennis players from Indonesia, Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Competitions in honor of upcoming 22nd anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence were organized by the State Committee for sports and National Tennis Center with a view of further development and popularization of tennis in the country, selection of the talented sportsmen for the national team, promotion of the healthy life-style among young generation of the Turkmen residents.

The International Junior Tournament of ITF of the 5th category in honor of Turkmenistan’s Independence becomes popular year by year. Within its 11-year long history, the representatives of various countries of America, Europe, Asia and Australia contended for prizes on the capital’s courts. In the current year, the representatives of Indonesia first appeared among competitors for awards of our tournament.

Tournament will complete on September 28.
