Duels of the second playing day were held today at the International Junior Tournament, which is continued on the courts of multifunctional “Ashgabat” stadium in honor of the 22nd anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence.
Leader of the Turkmen team A. Ernepesov held his starting duel against tennis player from Indonesia S. Poeji. Advantage of the first racket of Turkmenistan was as high as the opponent was able to take only three games in two sets - 6:1, 6:2. Now, in the game for the quarterfinal, A. Ernepesov has to meet with P. Petrov (Kazakhstan), who won a victory over H. Chariyev (Turkmenistan) in the first lap - 6:2, 6:0.
Another resident of Turkmenistan – winner of the recent International Tournament “Ashgabat Cup” I. Mametkuliyev also reached the second lap, having easily got the better of B. Gafurov (Uzbekistan) - 6:1, 6:0. His opponent in next match will be B. Mamyr (Kazakhstan). As it was informed before, another two residents of Turkmenistan G. Pochay and I. Barzasekov got a right to play in 1/8 finale. The first of them has to meet with S. Agabigun (Turkey) and the second – with M. Esipov (Uzbekistan).
In female single grade, among our tennis players, the victory was gained today by D. Bayramova and A. Guseynova. The first of them won a convincing victory over M. Karayeva (Turkmenistan) - 6:0, 6:0, and the second – over E. Tamayeva (Turkmenistan) - 6:2, 7:6(5). Now, in the duels to reach the quarterfinal, D. Bayramova will play with the representative of Uzbekistan S. Smirnova, and A. Guseynova – with D. Gunai (Turkey).
The winners of the tournament will be known on September 28.
