Turkmenistan Cup in Athletics among men and women dedicated to the forthcoming holiday - the 22d anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan completed in the Turkmen capital. Over 200 sportsmen competed for the main trophy.
The competitions once again demonstrated that Ashgabat sportsmen were the best in sprint, shot put, javelin, hammer and discus throwing and the representatives of Lebap region showed the best results in the middle-distance races and long jumps.
A. Orazgeldiev run the 100-metre distance in 10.2 seconds demonstrating the best results among men. The result is 0.1 seconds more than the record of Turkmenistan established by G. Redjepov in 1986.
It should be noted that Ashgabat sportsmen demonstrated the best results in 17 more events.
Lebap sportsmen won eight victories and representatives of Mary and Balkan Velayats demonstrated best results in 400-metre running distance and in triple jumps.
