Football team “Chandybil” from Ashgabat that has beaten Lebap vilayet combined team in the final meeting with a score of 2 to 1 has become a tournament winner among juniors for the Cup of Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan, devoted to the 22d anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan.
Competitions organized for the second time held at the stadium of the “Ashgabat” sport complex. If in the last year, only capital’s teams participated in the tournament for the Cup of Embassy of friendly country then this year, besides Lebap football players and home team, teams of Akhal and Mary provinces competed for the first prize of the tournament.
It was presented only 6 teams in the tournament that divided into two groups. Pursuant to the regulation, only the first place in a group provides with the place in the final game. Teams that took the second line of the score table have met for the third place in the match.
Deciding meeting was enthralling: the guests from Lebap have opened the score but to the end of the first half of the game, players of the “Chandybil” could recoup. The hot point was set 10 minutes before the end of the prime time.
Thus, the team “Chandybil” of Ashgabat sport school won the Cup of Embassy of the Republic of Korea for the second time, still remaining the only holder of this honorary trophy.
The ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan An Myong Su had a congratulatory speech during the prize presentation ceremony where he said that football being one of the most popular kinds of sport in Turkmenistan gives wonderful opportunity to make new friends, especially in a young age.
The best players of the match were awarded with valuable prizes by the tournament organizers.
