Turkmen boxers won the first victory in the world championship started in Almaty (Kazakhstan). The victory was gained by Zarip Jumayev- a student of National institute of sport and tourism, quarterfinalist of the World Student Game-2013 held in Kazan.

Medals of the 17th world championship that takes place in Almaty contended in 10 weight categories among 457 boxers from 111 countries.

This year Turkmenistan represented by seven boxers, among them –participant of the Olympic Games 2012 that took place in London, champion of Asia of 2009, Serdar Hydayberdiyev.

The world boxing championship will be finished in October 26.
