Turkmen masters of the Olympic tae kwon do version WTF have won 2 gold and 2 silver medals at the Open Cup of Baltic among the cadets and juniors in Riga. The sport forum has gathered about 30 teams from 10 countries as Finland, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia and Turkmenistan.
The sports authority of Turkmenistan in these competitions was protected by 5 athletes, three of which have returned back to motherland with prizes.
Among the cadets (under 14 years of age) Muhammet Roziyev- the 8th grade student of school N1of the capital city, pupil of single combat sport school of Ashgabat city sport committee has got the top level of podium in weight class up to 41 kg and the athlete of Tae kwon do National center of Turkmenistan (WTF), Mekan Kurbanov -the 6th grade student of school N34 of Ashgabat has become a silver medalist in weight class up to 57 kg.
In the juniors’ competition (under 18 years of age), the representative of single combat sport school of Ashgabat city sport committee Alexander Kuvarzin who won a gold medal at first in weigh category up to 55 kg, then silver medal in weight category up to 59 kg has got double success.
Our team was trained for the competitions under the leadership of coaches Bashim Rozyyev and Yazmurad Kurbanov.
Preparations for responsible starts- the first world championship among the cadets, elimination tournament of the youth Olympic games and XVII summer Asian games that will take place in 2014 is before Turkmen tae kwon do athletes of the Olympic version WTF.
