Turkmenistan-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission for economic cooperation held a meeting at the President Hotel in Ashgabat. A high-level delegation of the Republic of Belarus arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the meeting.

The agenda of the meeting, which brought together the representatives of a number of government agencies and leading sectoral ministries and departments of the two countries, covered a wide range of issues related to Turkmen-Belarusian relations.

The meeting participants exchanged views on key priorities of intergovernmental cooperation, the considerable potential of which opened up broad prospects for enhancing effective contacts in its whole spectrum, including in the trade and economic sector and the humanitarian and cultural sphere.

The possibilities for promoting partnership in the fuel and energy, agricultural, chemical, transport and communications and tourism sectors were discussed. A focus of talks was humanitarian cooperation, particularly in the fields of education, science and healthcare.

The protocol on the results of the meeting was signed.
