Round table meeting was devoted to the study of the international and national approaches in the sphere of the state governance and strategic planning. It was organized in Ashgabat by the Parliament of Turkmenistan and representative office of the UN Development Program (UNDP) in our country.

As the international expert, the consultant of the UNDP Mr. A. Michailov made a speech before the forum participants – the deputies and specialists of the national parliament.

Meeting was held within the framework of joint project of the Parliament of Turkmenistan and UNDP “Program on support of development of the Parliament”. In the course of the forum, particular attention was paid to the use of modern methods in development of plans of the strategic management and planning as well as realization of priority trends of development of the provinces. In this context, the agenda of meeting included the issues of improvement of activity of local authorities and self-government institutions on socio-economic development of the regions, etraps and towns.

The forum participants expressed the confidence that the current meeting will contribute to further successful development of cooperation of Turkmenistan and UNO.
