The Research Institute of cotton growing of the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan raises and introduces into production new fast-ripening, high-yield and disease-resistant cotton sorts, works out the farming techniques for them, and produces highly reproductive seeds.
In the current year, the specialists of the Research Institute of cotton growing offered the cotton-growers of Dashoguz province another medium fibrous sort “Gubadag-3”. It differs by fast-ripening, productivity, disease-resistant, quality of fibre. Medium fibrous cotton sorts “Yoloten-47”, “Yoloten-48”, “Gubadag-4”, “Ahal-2” and fine-stapled cotton sort “Gavers-2” pass the test on the sort-test areas of the country. Such sorts as “Yoloten-45”, “Yoloten-46”, which successfully passed the state trials, will be observed under production conditions since 2014.
According to soil and climatic conditions of every region, the cotton-growers widely sow the medium fibrous cotton sorts “Yoloten-7”, “Yoloten-39”, “Dashoguz-120”, “Dashoguz-114” and fine-stapled - “Yoloten-14”, “Yoloten-32”, which were raised by the Turkmen selectionists.
Besides production of elite seeds of cotton sorts, the workers of the Research Institute of cotton growing realize the methodological guidance and render practical assistance to the seed farms of the country.
