The final meetings of the Cup Tournament of Turkmenistan on tennis were held on the tennis courts of multifunctional “Ashgabat” sport complex. Nearly 100 sportsmen from all provinces of the country and Ashgabat took part in it. Competitions organized by the State Committee of Turkmenistan for sports and National Tennis Center demonstrated that the capital’s sportsmen are the leaders in this kind of sports as before: in the finals of single and pair classes in male and female groups, only Ashgabat residents contend for the champion’s titles.
As it was supposed, among women, a victory was gained by the first racket of the country, master of sports of international class Anastasiya Prenko. She won the gold awards in single and pair classes. In the second case, Guljahan Kadyrova helped her to win.
It is already the ninth in succession victory of Anastasia in the Cup Tournament of Turkmenistan. At that, 20-year old tennis player of Ashgabat, who is a student of the International Turkmen-Turkish University, never sustained a defeat in the national tournaments since 12 years old. Incidentally, her assistant in pair competitions also studies at the same international higher education establishment.
The representatives of “Galkan” sport club of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan Georgiy Pochay (the second racket of the country) and Alexander Manuhin have met in the male final meeting of single class. This tennis game became the longest in the competitions – over 2.5 hours. At the end, G. Pochay won a victory – 6:3, 3:6 and 8:6. He also won a gold medal in pair class, where his assistant was the worker of the State Enterprise for the Caspian Sea at the President of Turkmenistan Eziz Dovletov.

The championship of Turkmenistan will be held here. The awards will be played in three age groups – among sportsmen of 10 years old and younger, under 13 year old, and 14 years old and elder.
