The XI meeting of the Council of Heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS states was held in the conference hall of the Nebitchi Hotel. The meeting, which brought together the heads and representatives of the chambers of commerce and industry of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and the CIS Executive Committee, focused on the approaches to promoting the traditional forms of trade and economic cooperation between these structures and elaborating new approaches to economic cooperation.
The meeting agenda covered a wide range of issues, including the measures to be taken to encourage small and medium businesses in the CIS countries, build up interstate collaboration between the Chambers, government agencies and public organisations in the trade and economic sectors and promote exchange of economic information. The meeting participants considered the work done by the Council in 2013 and the progress in implementing the decisions adopted during the previous meetings. The participants were informed of the progress in implementing the multilateral agreements in various fields of cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry.
The Council members approved the list of exhibitions and trade fairs to be held under the patronage of the Council in 2014 and elected the Chairman of the Council of Heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the CIS states for 2014. The dates of a next meeting of the Council were set.
