The ceremony of opening a new school took place in Abadan, the satellite town of Ashgabat. The beautiful white-marble school building that adorned the urban architectural ensemble is a wonderful present for local citizens for the New Year.
The new educational institution is built in the southwest of the town in immediate proximity to the cultural centre which was built in 2010.
The new school designed for 600 children include the main building with classrooms, gym and auxiliary premises. There are green lawns and flowers beds in the adjacent territory.
The four-storey school building meets the conditions required to promote intellectual and creative development of schoolchildren. Classrooms for elementary schoolchildren, computer classrooms and laboratories supplied with state-of-the-art equipment and multimedia technologies. There are language laboratories where children study foreign languages and special classrooms where they study various disciplines, including chemistry, physics, biology and computer science, the library with a big reading hall and spacious rooms for music, choreography, drawing and decorative and applied art classes in the school building.
There are the specialized workshops for labour classes where boys will learn the skills and techniques in milling, turning work and timbering and girls will learn how to sew, embroider and cook. These workshops are supplied with tools, sewing machines and household appliances.
The school building houses the assembly hall for holding the festivities and meetings, the Galkynys room, teachers’ rooms and school administration offices. There are the medical and dental rooms in the school.
Physical development of schoolchildren is an important aspect of the educational process. Children can do various sports and physical exercises in the spacious gym with sports equipment, football fields and basketball and volleyball grounds, the swimming pool in a separate building located in the school yard. The sports facilities in the territory of the school meet the conditions required to hold inter-school sports competitions.
