Today, a meeting was held in the conference hall of the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources at the President of Turkmenistan. In the course of the meeting, it was considered the issues of interaction of Turkmenistan and European Union within the framework of the program of international cooperation in the energy sphere. The specialists of the sectoral departments of Turkmenistan as well as representatives of the European Union at the head of Directorate-general for energy Hans Rhein took part in the meeting.

In the course of the meeting, it was noted that presently, the EU countries attach great significance to the development of cooperation in the energy sphere with Turkmenistan. The guests highly appreciated the reforms and expressed striving for further cooperation and realization in Turkmenistan of several joint projects. Particular emphasis was made on measures, being realized today and related to modernization of the enterprises of the energy sector, formation of more favorable conditions for energy markets as well as reinforcement of security of energy deliveries.

According to the program of the international technical assistance of the European Union, it is realized the cooperation on technology and methodology of gas loss decrease in the system of gas pipelines of the Central Asia, on issues of rendering technical assistance, maintenance of regional training programs, rise of qualification level of specialists and organization of introductory working trips and others.
