The Turkmen sportsmen gained a large success at the 5th World Championship for Traditional Fudokan-Shotokan Karate held in Prague (Czech Republic). Over thousands of athletes from 44 countries, including from our country took part in the World Championship.
Gold, silver (in the team event) and two bronze medals are the result of our sportsmen, who performed in “kumite” and in complex exercises in karate “kata”. Arslan Atayev, who performed in the individual duels in junior age group, won the gold medal. The national team of Turkmenistan won the silver medal and title of vice-champion in team events among men. Another medal – bronze was gained by D. Hojayev in the complex exercises. The second bronze medal was provided for the team by Kakageldi Nuriyev, who performed in the individual duels among men.
