Turkmen karatekas’ victory in the World Karate Championships

The Turkmen athletes won five medals of the World Karate Championships which brought together the teams from 50 countries worldwide in Belgrade (Serbia).

Arslan Ataev from Mary won the gold medal in the competitions of the youngest participants. Zohra Jumbaeva from Mary ranked the first in the women’s tournament and won the gold medal. The duet of Serdar Annagulyev from Ashgabat and a student of the National Institute of Tourism and Sport Arslan Hudaykuliev won the silver medal. A student of the institute of Tourism and Sport Diyar Hojaev became the bronze medal winner. D. Hojaev, R. Annaev, O. Durdiev and R. Hudayberenov won the bronze medal in the team tournament.

Honoured Coach of Turkmenistan and Head of the National Karate Centre of Turkmenistan H. Hojaev prepared the team for the competitions. To date the National Karate Centre unites over 2,000 fans of this martial art from all regions of the country.
