A meeting of the National Wrestling Center of Turkmenistan took place in the conference hall of the State Committee for Sports onFebruary 1. The meeting agenda focused on the familiarization and explanation of changes in the referring system and the rules of the free style and Greco-Roman wrestling competitions adopted during a special session of the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) taken place in the capital of the Russian Federation.

As is known, in February 2013, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) voted to remove the sport from the 2020 Summer Olympics onwards. On 8 September 2013, the IOC announced that wrestling would return to the Summer Olympics in 2020.

At present, the national team of Turkmenistan in the free-style and Greco-Roman wrestling is preparing for the large international tournament dedicated to famous Russian wrestler V.G. Ivlev. The tournament will be held in Podolsk on February 7-10. Our sportsmen will take part in the tournament as well as will be the referees.

Then, the national team of Turkmenistan will take part in the international training exercises in Kazan, the Republic of Tatarstan on February 21 - March 5, which will be another stage for the preparations for the Asian Games in Incheon, Korea in September, 2014.
