The matches of the 2nd international ice hockey tournament for the President’s Cup were held at the Winter Sports Centre in Ashgabat. A bright show was performed during the opening ceremony of the international tournament.
The tournament has brought together 8 teams that were divided into two groups: Group A: HC Oguzhan, HC Sir, HC Grodno from Belarus and HC Kazahmys from Satpayev, Kazakhstan and Group B: HC Galkan of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan, HC Atlant from Mytishchi, Russian Federation, HC Neftyanik from Almetyevsk, Tatarstan and HC Akademiya from Kiev, Ukraine.
The matches are held in accordance with the robin-round system. The winners and runners-up in each group will compete for the main trophy. Semi-finals will be held on February 16.
HC Oguzhan of the Turkmengaz State Concern has played with HC Grodno today. The Turkmen hockey players, who are the vice champions of the 2013 President’s Cup, defeated 6:1 their opponents. HC Galkan played with Atlant after the official opening ceremony. The Turkmen team won 4:2.
