The matches of the international ice hockey tournament for Turkmenistan President’s Cup were held on the ice arena of the Winter Sports Centre in Ashgabat. The Turkmen teams – HC Galkan and HC Oguzhan – played in these matches. The Turkmen hockey players gained a difficult but handsome victory over their opponents and qualified for semi-finals of the international ice hockey tournament.
HC Galkan played with HC Grodno from Belarus and won 5:2. This is the second victory of the Turkmen team that brought them a semi-final qualification. HC Oguzhan – the silver medal winners of 2013 Turkmenistan President’s Cup - played with HC Atlant from Russia. The Turkmen sportsmen defeated 3:1 their opponents. It should be noted that the third Turkmen team – HC Sir – qualified for semi-finals ahead of schedule. The Turkmen team defeated 5:1 HC Neftyanik.
Thus, all three Turkmen teams will continue to compete for the main trophy of the international ice hockey tournament.
