The combined teams of Laos, Afghanistan and the Philippines will be opponents of the Turkmen football players in the final tournament of the 5th cup tournament of challenge AFC, which will be held from May 19 to 30 of this year in Maldives. According to the draw held in the capital of Maldives – Male, these teams formed the group “B”.
Within the framework of this tournament, the Turkmen football players have met three times with the semifinalists of the previous cup tournament of challenge AFC-2012 - the Filipinos. In two matches, the success accompanied our compatriots: 5:0 – in 2009 in the qualified tournament in Male and 2:1 – two years ago in the semifinal in Katmandu (Nepal). In the course, the last year’s elimination tournament held in the Motherland of Filipinos in Manila, the opponents were stronger – 1:0.
The balance of matches with team of Afghanistan seems positive for our football players. Victory was gained in all three matches.
