The volleyball tournament was held in the sports complex of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on occasion of the Diplomats' Day of Turkmenistan that is traditionally celebrated in our country on February 18. The sports teams representing the diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan participated in the tournament.
The volleyball tournament organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan brought together the teams of the structural agencies of the United Nations Organization, the Embassies of the Russian Federation, the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as the team of the specialists of the Embassies of Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia and Uzbekistan and the team of the Embassies of Tajikistan, Malaysia and Turkey.
Summing up the group matches, the teams of the Russian Federation and the United States were qualified for the final. The representatives of the Russian Federation defeated 3-0 their rivals from the US and won the first place in the tournament.
The team of Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia and Uzbekistan won the third place.
The Cup and diploma were awarded to the winner. The valuable presents and diplomas were awarded to the teams winning the second and third places in the tournament.
