President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Winter Sports Complex, where it was held the final of the International Hockey Tournament for the Cup of the President of Turkmenistan.

Eight teams, representing Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan took part in the Cup Tournament, which is held in our country at the international level for the second time.

Today, prior to the beginning of the final match, it was held a game for the third place between our “Galkan” and Russian team “Neftyanik”, which became the bronze prize-winner in the last year at the Cup Tournament of the President of Turkmenistan.

In the current year, in the course of tense game for the third place, the victory and bronze medals as well as 5 thousand US dollars from prize money of the tournament fell to lot of the club from Almatevsk. The Russian team completed the match with the Turkmen hockey players with a score of 5 goals to 2 in their favor.

The teams “Oguzkhan” and “Shir” had the honor to contend the first prize – the Cup of the President of Turkmenistan. With minimal score – 2:1 the victory was gained by “Shir” team. The players are awarded with gold medals, money prize of 20 thousand US dollars and of course, main trophy – the Cup of the President of Turkmenistan.

The winners were greeted by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who became honorable guest of the current final.
