Within five years of its initiation the Academy of Civil Service at the President of Turkmenistan over 800 public officials: ranging from heads of local self-government to heads of ministries and departments have undergone here training and increased their professional quality.

The civil service academy was established on September 12, 2008 by the decree of president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, from March 2009 the education establishment prepares personnel for various spheres of activity and levels of management. Trainees are provided with advanced practical and research knowledge in the fields of law, economy, management, state management, information technology, culture, psychology of management, and others.

In compliance with requirement of the state head at the enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on August 9, 2013, for the necessity of commanding pubic officials at least two foreign languages the methodology of teaching English was deeply revised. From the 2013-2014 academic years, the course “state management of the agro-industry complex” was introduced to the program for professional development of public officials. In the course of the course for trainees with the assistance of international experts and the UNDP additional classes on the most topical issues of state management are also held here.

In view of revision and broadening of theoretical knowledge in the fields of law, economy, and arts, [professional skills, all trainees undergo work practice in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and ministries of economic sector.
